Alexandra Bonifield is a nationally recognized freelance arts journalist (O’Neill Theatre Critics Institute and National Endowment for the Arts/Annenberg Fellow), respected Dallas/Fort Worth theater critic, arts advocate and professional tutor. Her reviews, features and short stories have been published both nationally and regionally. Since 2008, she has served as editor of criticalrant.com, her performing arts blog, featuring in-depth articles, advocacy and reviews that cover the North Texas/Central Oklahoma region and beyond. For over 20 years she has created, taught and managed programs focused on drama, theatre and English for non-profits, public and charter schools and camps, ranging from grade school level through adult. She currently tutors all things verbal and creative and specializes in SAT/ACT prep and college entrance essays. A Dallas native, she graduated from the prestigious Hockaday School for Girls and attended Rice University on honor scholarship. She earned a B.A. in Theatre Arts from The University of Texas at Dallas.
