Why Wilmette families choose us

Private SAT Tutoring Built Around Your Student

Wilmette students at New Trier, Loyola Academy, and Regina Dominican are used to high expectations. Many already have strong grades and are looking for the score that matches them. Our tutors start with a full diagnostic, then focus each one-on-one session on the handful of skills that separate a good score from a great one.

Every plan starts with a full diagnostic and score analysis so we can find the highest-leverage areas: the reading passages your student rushes, the algebra shortcuts they miss, and the grammar rules that keep tripping them up. Sessions mix math and reading and writing so both sections improve together.

Good to Know in Illinois

The SAT, the ACT, and Illinois Juniors

Starting in spring 2025, Illinois moved its required school-day test for juniors from the SAT to the ACT. That means many students now take the SAT on a national weekend date instead of at school. Colleges accept either test equally, so the right choice is the one where your student can score highest.

We start with a diagnostic to see where your student is strongest, and we help you plan test dates around school, sports, and application deadlines. If the ACT turns out to be the better fit, we can prepare for that too.

Frequently Asked Questions

How much does SAT tutoring cost in Wilmette?

Every plan is customized based on your student’s starting score, target score, and timeline. We offer several SAT plan sizes, and we will recommend the right one after a free consultation. Call (877) 638-0707 for pricing.

Do Illinois students still need the SAT?

Illinois now gives juniors the ACT during the school day, but colleges accept the SAT and ACT equally. Many students still choose the SAT because it fits their strengths better. We can give your student a diagnostic to help you decide.

Is your SAT tutoring in Wilmette online or in person?

Our tutoring for Wilmette families is live online and one-on-one, with a real tutor on Zoom and an interactive whiteboard. In-person sessions may be available by request depending on location, so ask us during your free consultation.

Should my student take the SAT or the ACT?

It depends on the student. We look at diagnostic results, pacing, and comfort with each format, then recommend the test where your student is most likely to reach their goal.

When should my student start SAT prep?

Most students start in the spring of sophomore year or the summer before junior year. Starting early leaves time for more than one official test date without rushing.

Do you work with students from New Trier High School and other Wilmette-area schools?

Yes. We tutor students from New Trier High School, Loyola Academy, Regina Dominican High School, and other schools in and around Wilmette. Every plan is personalized to the student, not the school.
